National Truck Driver Appreciation Week
National Truck Driver Appreciation Week (September 10-16) is dedicated to honoring all of the trucking professionals who say goodbye to their families in order to supply the needs of ours. Our nation’s economy relies on these hard-working individuals and we appreciate all of the sacrifices they make to keep us moving. At Stevens, our drivers are our number one asset and we are committed to their success because without them – America would stop.
As a family-owned trucking company, we consider our drivers an extended part of our family. While we appreciate how valuable our drivers are daily, this week is dedicated to the over 3.5 million truck drivers who keep our nation moving.
Did you know that each year:
- 70% of all freight is transported by 3.5 million truck drivers
- 5 billion tons of freight is moved by truck
- The average trucker drives 112,098 miles
Stevens will be recognizing drivers all week by offering daily prize drawings for gift cards and electronics and providing them with free meals. Departments will also be displaying appreciation signs throughout the building to show support.
