




OPERATIONS - DISPATCHER
Job Summary
The dispatcher is responsible for communicating all pertinent freight information to drivers in a region of assigned responsibility. Supervise and maintain equipment providing load capacity. Work directly with internal employees and manage expectations against operational capabilities. Employ a strategic approach by problem solving and develop corrective actions to enhance operational performance.

Qualifications
- 2-4 years related transportation experience
- Ability to multi-task and work independently
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- AS400 Operating system experience preferred
- Proficient in Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Typing of 35-45 wpm minimum
- Some college coursework or military experience preferred
Freight Broker
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This position requires the ability to locate/secure equipment, move time sensitive dry and refrigerated freight in multiple locations around the United States, negotiate rates paid to the carrier, tender load information and manage both carrier and driver service to achieve the desired result for our customers.
- Managing all aspects of the freight brokerage process in our fast paced, multi-tasking environment requires candidates to possess a positive attitude and be self motivated and able to self manage.
- Developing new carrier relationships requires knowledge of all aspects of carrier development including strong negotiating and organizational skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written and excellent telephone skills for cold calling and daily contact with carriers.
- Developing and maintaining existing customer and carrier relationships requires industry knowledge of carriers, rates, lanes etc. A carrier following is preferred.
- Updating and managing data on the AS400 and using MS office software requires attention to detail and accuracy.
Qualifications
Requires time management, negotiating skills, ability to develop customers and carrier following, high inbound and outbound phone volume, multi-tasking and working well under pressure.
Education
- Bachelors Degree
Language Skills
Proficient use of English language when speaking, reading, and writing
Computer Skills
- Basic PC skills including Microsoft Office products, Word and Excel
- Ability to accurately and effectively use a keyboard using alpha and numeric keys
Math Skills
- Basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division skills
- Ability to use calculator as needed
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to use good judgment and common sense
Physical Demands
- Ability to sit for up to 4 hours at a time
Work Environment
- Ability to work in climate controlled environment

DRIVER MANAGER
Summary
Directs and coordinates Drivers by tracking, speaking with, or emailing them to make sure they are performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Track Trucks minimum of 2 times per day
- Signify service, home time or safety re-power;and execute thru the Team leader Communicate with the Team leader if options exist within own fleet for re-power assistance of others
- Manage Driver Utilization, Opti Stop Compliance, Variance
- Manage Driver Home Time, Secure Parking for Equipment
- Manage Driver Safety issues; HOS, Routing, Talks, Route to Dallas, Trip Planning
- Manage Data Integrity: PTA's, RDO's, Circle of Service
- Manager Driver Payroll and associated issues, Bill Of ladings
- Manage your unassigned drivers to get them back to work in a timely manner
- Overall management and documentation of drivers performance thru the F-8 and service failure modules
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises 40 to 50 Drivers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning trips, directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE
As an individual contributor, the Customer Service Representative (CSR) is the key point of contact between a specific customer and Stevens Transport and manages customer expectations against operational capabilities.
- Communicates with specific customers on a daily basis to coordinate shipments based on allocation.
- Receives and enter loads tendered through fax, e-mail, and EDI in a timely manner.
- Solicits customers as needed to secure shipment orders.
- Prioritizes and multi-tasks in a fast paced environment.
- Resolves customer issues to meet quality and on-time service expectations.
- Follows Company protocol to schedule pick up and delivery times.
- Maintains current driver and equipment utilization reports.
- Tracks loads and investigates problems pertinent to loads in transit.
- Proactively communicates issues with customers and trouble shoots.
- Collaborates with appropriate departments to resolve issues (driver managers, brokerage, dispatch, planning, etc.).
- Speaks to customers in a consistent, courteous, and efficient manner.
REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS
- 5-7 years CSR, Inside Sales, or Customer Service in the Transportation Industry
- Exemplary communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills
- Ability to multi task and work in a team environment
- Refrigerated, Produce, and/or Meat experience a plus
- Proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel
- EDI, AS400, and Qualcomm experience preferred
- Typing of 35-45 wpm minimum
- Some college coursework
