At Stevens, we utilize the QUALCOMM satellite tracking system to expedite customer routing by monitoring our fleet of trucks through two-way mobile satellite communications. QUALCOMM is the world's leading manufacturer of digital wireless communications products and technologies. Through this system, we dispatch directly to our drivers, via satellite, all pertinent data related to their deliveries: directions, weather conditions, pickup and delivery instructions, destination times for unloading, and other specific customer needs. The drivers receive this important routing information on a computer monitor installed in the cab of each truck. They, in turn, can communicate directly with the dispatcher through a keyboard, responding to any inquiries and updating the progress toward their delivery destination. Such constant communications have enabled Stevens to maintain excellent records of on-time delivery, much to the satisfaction of the customer.
